How Many Carrots Does It Take ?

  • City financed improvements to the tune of +$600,000
  • Real Estate tax abatements for up to 5 years. - ($471,000 X 5 Years= $2,355,000)
  • Exempt from city and state sales taxes for building materials.
  • 50% discount on building permits.

.....for 55 - $300,000 condos ???

Somebody tries to clean up the best asset the city has and you nerds think it's funny. When was the last investment you made in the city??

Every year when I pay my property taxes.

When I replaced my driveway the city did not pick up the tab.

When I rebuilt my garage and added a deck, I paid all the sales taxes and did not receive a 5 year exempt status from property taxes. Nor did I receive a discount on the building permit. I instantly was informed after the improvements that my taxes would go up.

I think the city went too far on the 5 years exempt for taxes. If they can fill 55 condos for $300K, I think they could fork over their share of the taxes that go with it.

Turn your telescope around. Sounds like you work for Bevelheimer. And in five years what will the property taxes be for the condos compared to the warehouses that were there. Your type of vision is exactly why the downtown area looks the way it does. Very short sighted. Think about the jobs created, won't be minimum wage stuff. It will be real wages and the river front will be greatly improved. These things are called insentives, they make things happen. and Quincy needs some things to happen on the river front.

Three Words:

Main Street Tap

You can't even come close to comparing Main Street Tap with the condo's and retail developement on the river. $22,000,000 vs ? Are you serious? Two heavily capitalized developers vs some fly-by-night. Put your airplane glue away!!!

No shit on that one. We got Ray and Frank ..... What they are asking isn't that much of a stretch .

For fucks sake that area is in the enterprise zone ..... also in the TIFF district .

Lets see the entire Business park at Snideman , nrth 24th , the pier & the state office building.......

I think the City SHOULD deal Ray a great deal .

p.s. : He also buys all products locally and uses local subs.......

anon please put the glue & crack pipe down
