Daily Delusional

We believe (as always,WE know best) whig.com brings value to our (shrinking) audience and to the (QND Fans) community, value that should be reflected in our pricing structure.(Lube up subscribers here it comes) That value has increased (seriously?) over time with investments in technology (new coffee machine) and personnel (now hiring?) that are enabling us to provide more news (email it to us please), real-time coverage (mayor Spring & city hall) of breaking news,(AP) and coverage that incorporates video.(We bought a new video camera and have learned how to use it) The new (increased) price structure, in line with policies at a growing (shrinking) number of large and small newspapers, (justification for price increase) will ensure that we can continue to provide the kind of quality journalism (again, seriously?) across all platforms (well, the ones we choose) that the community has come to expect. (same shit, higher price)

FYI: before you shell out the addional upcharge for the "Black Friday" edition for the QNDHW, you can visit each local store "on-line" and get the ads early and most let you make a printable shopping  list.  Go Green !

Local Quncy Media goes for the hat trick in dragging QHS Sports program thru the mud.

First up KHQA.

Kevin Haslam should have called the police on this.

Bet he is scared for life.

Suck it up buttercup.

Go play soccer or try cheerleading.

Editoral BS

I like how the Sunday Whig editoral leaves the reader with the fear that if any federal programs are cut, Meth use and production in the midwest will skyrocket.

This is typical Democrats using class warfare and scare tactics to shirk responsibility and engage in theatrics.

Yet, there is a fear that the meth trade will revive
and thrive and communities will continue to
be contaminated if the federal government is barred
from helping the states and the states can’t do it on
their own. For many communities in West-Central
Illinois and Northeast Missouri, meth continues to
be a primary concern as law enforcement tries to
protect the citizenry.

Do you want a program to cut ? Try the S.T.E.P. program.

S.T.E.P. involves a combination of increased enforcement and community education designed to raise public awareness and compliance to all traffic laws. It is funded through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The grant is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety. Here's some stats on how the program "saves lives" (wastes money)

This is a BS Federally funded slush fund that more or less gives grants to local law enforcement agencies to pretty much....................wait for it............................do their JOBS!

Enforcing traffic laws is part of the job of law enforcement, does it really need Grant money to survive ?

so glad I don't pay for this sh*t.

Whig Free 3/15/2011

QHW wants you to know that the city
is ready to renew the city employees healthcare insurance.

QNO wants you to know that the city
is ready to renew the city employees healthcare insurance and gives you the details that the employees pay NOTHING towards their healthcare.

Maybe the Whig didn't think this was a big deal.

Whig Free 3/13/11

With a bit more practice, I think he can get NASCAR, Quincy Raceways and American Idol all in the same sentence.

Shake and Bake.

New Post Topics

Hello bloggers.

I am Quincy Fire and I was a Whig-aholic. I have been Whig-free for about 8 months now. Although I still read the paper every now and then, it is now strictly for entertainment value. Therefore I anytime I do read something odd, I'll blog about it under “ Whig Free

Also as I wonder around this metropolis, I frequently ask myself “who is footing the bill for this and how much is it?” So those will be listed under “ Who Pays For This?”
