No fan of Obama or the Royals, but the Repubs would have done the same,and the Brits? A pint,the day off, and Bob's yer uncle,ya?
Don't forget the tourism dollars. More than one estimate said they would make two to three times what they spent.
Since most of it has to come from the families involved, what the heck, let 'em spend it. For the rest, well let em start their own tax protest groups. We have enough on our plate here in the states. :)
