Sunday Rapid Fire

Brent Holtman saw the Harley-Davidson Road Kings sitting forlornly in the corner of the Quincy Police Department garage.

Unused and dirty, the bikes hadn't been ridden for at least a year. Holtman decided it was time to do something.

QPD leases the FLHPI Police Road King motorcycles from TNT Action Sports in Quincy for $200 a month.

Article here.

So. Two bikes sat for a year, not being used. Were the taxpayers leasing them for $200 a month during this time?

From the looks of the 2007 COQ Annual Report, TNT was paid $5075.20.

Guess we were.

Well, they were there just in case we needed them. You know, an emergency. Or in case a parade broke out.

How can this NOT be labeled under Taxpayer Waste? Rapid Fire only?

Why couldn't the city "go green", get rid of the obnoxious pieces of crap, and buy a couple more bicycles?

Maybe the oil-dry industry has special interests in keeping these motorcycles on the road.

I've seen the gas-guzzling Ford Expedition Police unit cruising South Park late last week and then saw it again today in Prairie Crossing.
I know it is suppose to get cold tonight but I didn't expect a blizzard like they are. I feel so safe knowing they will be able to get around when it snows 10+ inches tonight! JESUS CHRIST!!!
