WTF ?

So City Council will vote on yet another bid for replacing traffic signals in town.  Only one company bid on it and was like $125 K which was 40%+ over who someone we call an engineer that works for the city.

Now a new "revised" quote comes in $1,500 under the last sole bidder and now our engineer says he compared 23 other IDOT projects.

Where did he pull the first numbers from ? His ASS ?

FFS ! You can't make this shit up !

That's why the city pays top dollar wages to their employees otherwise they would work in the private sector and get fired for something like this.

Jeff Steinkamp, Engineer for the City of Quincy, says crews won't be salting ahead of the snow storm, but will wait until slick spots are reported. Steinkamp says it's the best way to conserve resources while also keeping the streets safe.

My Dr. said the same thing about my clogged arteries. They wer 90% clogged but wanted to wait until I had a heartattack to operate. He said it was the best way to save on insurance costs and keep premiums low. Keeps the emergency rooms open for more serious people too.

Dr. Obama and Jeff share the same thinking!
