That was before political correctness was invented.
Actually, the Library had to change the name of the maintenance staff (and fancy-up the rest of the staff titles) so that the powers that be at the City would agree to a living wage. Prior to the change, quite a few of the para-professional positions were making less than the "don't need a high school diploma" garbage men. Or should I say sanitary engineers...
