Tax Dollars for Non-Profit

So Rebel Media brought up a good point yesterday. Where does the slippery slope stop ?

Here's my take on it.

NO TAX DOLLARS FOR NON-PROFITS.

Once you allow one, then you open up the door to allow city influence to dictate just who or what get city tax dollars.

Don't get me wrong, each and every non-profit is more that deserving to be donated to, but where does it stop?

The city is in the business of providing a service to the tax paying citizens of the city and should have never got into this in the first place.

I say end it now.

WTF ?

So City Council will vote on yet another bid for replacing traffic signals in town.  Only one company bid on it and was like $125 K which was 40%+ over who someone we call an engineer that works for the city. 

Now a new "revised" quote comes in $1,500 under the last sole bidder and now our engineer says he compared 23 other IDOT projects.

Where did he pull the first numbers from ? His ASS ?

QPD Fundraising

Although I differ in opinion with the Strawman, Reading thru the Blotter looks like to me that the QPD made some money on north 12 street this week.        I say good deal.      Don't like it, don't speed.

I'll leave this post open for anyone to leave any tips for the QPD on areas around Quincy that you would like to see more patroled for violations.

FYI: before you shell out the addional upcharge for the "Black Friday" edition for the QNDHW, you can visit each local store "on-line" and get the ads early and most let you make a printable shopping  list.  Go Green !

The only "more" I have experienced is more calls to 1-800-comcast. More problems. More DTA's and More headaches.   So far I have installed 2 DTA's, had them both lose programming, several calls to comcast, got one back, and had a service call, got the other back, then lost all cable. Oh, and not one person has physically touched any part of the cables or DTA's  I have. (all programming error)

Looking to installing a 4" electrical conduit to the back of my flat screens to hide the cables.

How's your new cable service been ?

Nothing I like watching on my 60" Flat Screen TV is a flipping Frost Warning that scrolls continuously across the screen for hours.

Like there isn't enough info on the screen, a local station seems to think that we need more.

I like how the Sunday Whig editoral leaves the reader with the fear that if any federal programs are cut, Meth use and production in the midwest will skyrocket.

This is typical Democrats using class warfare and scare tactics to shirk responsibility and engage in theatrics.

This is a BS Federally funded slush fund that more or less gives grants to local law enforcement agencies to pretty much....................wait for it............................do their JOBS!

Enforcing traffic laws is part of the job of law enforcement, does it really need Grant money to survive ?

Quincy Mayor John Spring has declared a state of emergency for the city.

80% of Adams county has no power.

Wouldn't a massive power outage be an Emergency anyways ?
