MUST BE NICE.
Braley Announces $237,500 for Downtown Dubuque Intermodal Facility
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bruce Braley (IA-01) announced $237,500 for a new intermodal facility in downtown Dubuque, Iowa. The Federal Transit Administration grant will be used to build a new transportation center that provides a stop for passenger rail trains, intercity buses, taxis, bicycles and pedestrians.
“The intermodal facility will be a huge boost to Dubuque,” said Rep. Braley. “In addition to creating jobs and boosting the local economy, this new transit portal will improve transportation in and out of Dubuque, and the entire eastern Iowa region.”
The grant comes at the same time as Dubuque is set to receive a new intercity passenger rail train set for the Chicago-Dubuque passenger rail line. The intermodal facility will be key toservicing the improved passenger rail line.
Must be nice, is right! If we could just find a reason for Chicago-ans to want to come thru Quincy before going on their way to St. Louis and points anywhere BUT here,it would be a nice thing.
And out trains don't run thru downtown here.
Maybe while he's at it, Springer can move the airport downtown also?
Nice pants, JJ!
Anyone read the article in the whig about the nearly $1 million bike path. Check it out. Monday July 25th front page. WTF!!
The bike path has, and probably will continue to get more use than an inter-modal port.
and in the mean time Scholz is lobbying for American Water(EMC who he gave waste water to) to take over the water purification. Say good bye to good water and hello to doulbe the rates.
