Dream on! You probably ought to look to see how much it went up or you were surcharged for the channel deletion.
I agree our cable sucks. I would have dropped it years ago were it not for the fact that CGEM channel 18 carries the FOX stuff including sports we can't get off the air.
Call the mo-fo'ers up and tell them to git the NFL channel.
You just don't get crap for your money these days.
See ya's at Kriegers
my thoughts exactly...I covered this as well.
DirectTV is for me !
Somehow this smells like an Oakley's anus, in as much as Ch 6 has similar programming to Ch 11 and Ch 6 is of 'local' origin, I can see QNI aka Oakley Enterprises aka Quincy Broadcasting behind pressure on Insight to stop the duplication. Especially now that Ch 18 has 9:00 news just like Ch 11. That's what we get here in Quincy when one empire controls radio, tv, print & cable markets and 'demands' everthing their way.
I just called Insight, talked to some woman, she tried to feed me a line of crap about espn & fox carrying the games that NFL would carry anyway, she was totally uninformed. Also let her know it sucks they are dropping 11 & the pbs, who here didn't watch the 3 stooges on 11 when they were a kid. 11 carried them in the early 70's, was basically the only channel they even had! And here they drop them, , "what have you done fo me lately...."
Insight sucks!
DISH is great. I get the local channel package plus the regular cable channels. I have an HD set. I get the HD package which includes NFL-HD. Great service; great picture. FYI: Cable offers digital but not HD service. Big difference if you have or thinking of buying a real HD set.
Why not "pressure" the city council to vote not to renew insights franchise agreement?
Went to direct TV site, after ordering all the "extra's" nedded to get for 4 tv's in the house it would cost more than my cable. DTV doesn't offer internet access! Only advantage I see is if you are a sports fan, I am not and won't pay to see so called "athlete's", but that's another story.
Sorry but gotta keep my cable and hope for cable competition to come into area.
Regarding the cable TV system in Quincy. I and several of my friends have donated money to Channel 9 when they have had their pledge drives to keep public television on the air. Do we get our money back when PBS is taken from the Quincy market??
Thanks to the aldermen for taking a stand on this issue. We can only hope for a more customer friendly cable outlet for Quincy.
Thanks to the democrat controlled city council for giving the cable co. a "free hand" in the town by giving them another 30 years in 1997. 30 YEARS!! Will anyone be alive in 2027? Thanks, dems & scholz, for dropping the ball on that one, now we have to TRY to get the mess cleaned up.
