I'm a new Catholic, (circa) 2005. If I didn't want to do it, I wouldn't have. But I'm a traditionalist Love all the Stuff, the Pomp, the ceremony, the ritual, the solemnity, the strict rules, the feeling after a Mass with Father Bauer !!
Observer I am willing to bet that you are no different than the rest of the Catlics. 99%+ of them pick and choose the parts of Catholicism that they wish to live. The other parts are ignored. Basically you became more of hypocrit circa 2005.
